And that captor of hostile capitals, the mighty-armed Rama, was advancing (upon Lanka) with the sounds of drums mixed with the blares of conchs. Hearing this noise, Ravana--lord of Rakshasas--reflecting for a while, cast his eyes upon his counselors.
